Cymevene® Ganciclovir for Injection provides treatment and long-term suppression of cytomegalovirus infection in immunocompromised patients; prevention of CMV disease after organ transplantation.
- Mechanism: Nucleoside analog that inhibits CMV DNA polymerase to block viral replication and genome assembly.
- Drug class: Anti-cytomegalovirus nucleoside analog injectable antiviral agent.
- Clinical use: Acute treatment of active CMV retinitis, pneumonia and gastrointestinal infection in immunodeficient patients; preventive prophylaxis for transplant recipients.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Induction therapy: 5mg/kg intravenous infusion every 12 hours for 14–21 days; maintenance: 5mg/kg once daily.
Time: Fixed 12-hour intervals for induction infusion, regardless of meal timing.
Instructions for use: Reconstitute powder with sterile solvent before dilution for slow intravenous drip; monitor complete blood count daily due to myelosuppression risk.
Interaction: Concurrent myelosuppressive drugs drastically increase leukopenia and thrombocytopenia risks.
Side effects:
1. Common: severe neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, fever, injection site inflammation.
2. Rare severe: irreversible bone marrow suppression, renal injury.
