Indication & Scope
YiSu®/SHYNDEC® Enalapril Maleate Tablets indicates for the treatment of essential hypertension, renovascular hypertension and chronic heart failure. It can improve cardiac function prognosis and reduce the risk of cardiovascular adverse events in heart failure patients.
- Mechanism: Enalapril maleate is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor. It inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme activity, blocks the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, reduces aldosterone secretion, dilates blood vessels, reduces water and sodium retention, and lowers blood pressure. It also improves ventricular remodeling and protects cardiac function in heart failure patients.
- Drug class: Angiotensin-converting Enzyme Inhibitor (ACEI).
- Clinical use: Clinically applied for long-term blood pressure control of various types of hypertension, adjuvant treatment of chronic heart failure to improve cardiac function and long-term prognosis, and targeted treatment of renovascular hypertension.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Individualized dosage adjustment. Initial dose for hypertension is 5mg once daily, maintenance dose ranges from 10mg to 20mg daily in divided doses; low initial dose is adopted for heart failure treatment.
Time: Can be taken at any fixed time of the day, independent of meal time.
Instructions for use: Take the tablet whole with water. Start with low dose and adjust gradually according to blood pressure and cardiac function. Regular monitoring of renal function and blood potassium is required during medication.
Interaction: Combined with potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements easily causes hyperkalemia. Concurrent use with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs increases renal injury risk. Combined with other antihypertensive drugs enhances hypotensive efficacy.
Side effects:
1. Common side effects include dry cough, dizziness, fatigue and hypotension.
2. Rare adverse reactions include angioedema, abnormal renal function, hyperkalemia and gastrointestinal discomfort.
