Ventolin® Salbutamol Sulfate Inhalation Aerosol provides emergency relief of acute bronchospasm caused by asthma or COPD; premedication before exercise to prevent bronchospasm.
- Mechanism: Short-acting selective β2 adrenoceptor agonist that rapidly relaxes bronchial smooth muscle to reverse acute constriction within minutes.
- Drug class: Short-acting β2 agonist (SABA), rescue bronchodilator.
- Clinical use: On-demand rescue for acute dyspnea from bronchospasm; preventive use before strenuous exercise.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: 1–2 inhalations for acute bronchospasm; maximum 4 inhalations within 24 hours for rescue.
Time: Used on demand at the onset of dyspnea; taken 15 minutes before exercise for prevention.
Instructions for use: Shake vigorously before use; exhale fully, seal lips around the mouthpiece, activate the canister while inhaling slowly deeply, hold breath for 10 seconds.
Interaction: Beta-blockers antagonize effects; theophylline may increase tremor and palpitations when combined at high doses.
Side effects:
1. Common: transient hand tremor, mild palpitations, nervousness, headache.
2. Rare: throat irritation, muscle cramps.
