Indication & Scope
Glucobay® Acarbose Tablets controls postprandial blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes combined with diet control; reduce postprandial blood glucose level in people with impaired glucose tolerance.
- Mechanism: Inhibit intestinal alpha-glucosidase activity, delay carbohydrate decomposition and absorption, thereby reducing postprandial blood glucose peak and stabilizing blood glucose level.
- Drug class: Oral hypoglycemic drug for diabetes (alpha-glucosidase inhibitor).
- Clinical use: Clinically applied for long-term blood glucose control in type 2 diabetic patients and intervention treatment of impaired glucose tolerance to prevent diabetes progression.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Start with 50mg per time, 3 times a day, adjust dosage according to blood glucose monitoring results.
Time: Take orally with the first bite of each main meal.
Instructions for use: Must be combined with diet control; regular blood glucose monitoring is required during medication; do not stop the drug abruptly.
Interaction: Combined use with sulfonylurea hypoglycemic drugs may increase hypoglycemia risk; gastrointestinal adverse reactions may be aggravated with intestinal irritants.
Side effects:
1. Common flatulence, abdominal distension, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal reactions.
2. Rare mild liver function abnormality.
