 Indication & Scope

JingXin®/KuiNuoXian® is a prescription fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, gonorrhea, typhoid fever, and bloodstream infections.

  • Mechanism: Ciprofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, blocking bacterial DNA replication and leading to bacterial cell death.
  • Drug class: Fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent.
  • Clinical use: Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections involving the urinary, respiratory, gastrointestinal, skin, bone, and systemic circulation.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: The usual adult dose is 250–500 mg every 12 hours, depending on the type and severity of infection. Dosage adjustment is required in patients with renal impairment.

 

Time: Take orally with plenty of water, with or without food. Maintain adequate hydration during treatment.

 

Instructions for use: Swallow the tablet whole and complete the full prescribed course. Avoid taking dairy products, antacids, or mineral supplements within 2 hours before or after administration.

 

Interaction: Avoid concomitant use with tizanidine. Antacids, calcium, iron, magnesium, and zinc products reduce absorption, while warfarin, theophylline, and corticosteroids may increase the risk of adverse effects.

 

Side effects: Common adverse reactions include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, headache, and rash. Serious adverse reactions include tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, QT prolongation, severe allergic reactions, and Clostridioides difficile-associated diarrhea.
