How to use ?
Recommended Dose: For intravenous infusion, adults with normal renal function are usually administered 0.8–1.6 g/day divided into 2–3 doses; for severe MRSA infections or infective endocarditis, the dosage may be adjusted up to 1.6 g/day according to clinical conditions. Pediatric patients are generally administered 16–24 mg/kg/day divided into 2 doses, with dosage adjustments based on age and renal function. For oral treatment of Clostridioides difficile infection, the recommended dose is 0.4 g every 6 hours for 7–14 days.
Time: Administer by slow intravenous infusion only. Each dose should be infused over at least 60 minutes.
Instructions for use: Do not administer by intramuscular injection or rapid intravenous injection. Dose adjustment is required in renal impairment. Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) is recommended in high-risk patients.
Interaction: Avoid combination with nephrotoxic or ototoxic drugs such as aminoglycosides, cisplatin, amphotericin B, and loop diuretics when possible. Monitor renal function and hearing if combination therapy is necessary.
Side effects: Common adverse reactions include infusion reactions, rash, nausea, injection-site irritation, and elevated liver enzymes. Serious adverse reactions include nephrotoxicity, ototoxicity, red man syndrome, severe allergic reactions, and blood abnormalities.
