Indication & Scope
LYRICA® is a prescription α2δ calcium channel ligand indicated for the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia, diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, adjunctive therapy for partial-onset seizures in adults, and generalized anxiety disorder in adults.
- Mechanism: Pregabalin binds to the α2δ subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels, reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters and decreasing neuronal hyperexcitability.
- Drug class: α2δ calcium channel ligand (antiepileptic agent).
- Clinical use: Treatment of neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, partial-onset seizures, and generalized anxiety disorder.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: The usual starting dose is 75 mg twice daily (150 mg/day). The dose may be increased gradually to a maximum of 600 mg/day.
Time: Take orally with or without food. Do not stop treatment suddenly.
Instructions for use: Swallow the capsules whole with water. Dose adjustment is required in patients with renal impairment.
Interaction: Pregabalin may interact with opioids, sedatives, alcohol, and antidiabetic agents that increase the risk of edema.
Side effects: Common adverse reactions include dizziness, somnolence, dry mouth, peripheral edema, weight gain, blurred vision, and fatigue.
