Indication & Scope

JingXin® (Amlodipine Besylate Tablets) is indicated for the treatment of hypertension and coronary artery disease-related angina, including chronic stable angina and vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina. Amlodipine may be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensive or antianginal agents to achieve adequate blood pressure control and reduce the frequency of anginal symptoms.

Mechanism: Amlodipine is a long-acting dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker that inhibits calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle. It primarily produces peripheral arterial vasodilation, reducing systemic vascular resistance and myocardial oxygen demand.
Drug class: Dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB).
Clinical use: Once-daily treatment of hypertension and chronic stable or vasospastic angina, either alone or in combination with other cardiovascular medicines.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: For hypertension, the usual starting dose is 5 mg once daily; the dose may be increased to 10 mg once daily according to clinical response. For angina, the usual dose is 5–10 mg once daily.

Time: Take orally once daily, with or without food.

Instructions for use: Swallow the tablet whole with water. Continue regular blood pressure monitoring during treatment. Dose adjustment may be required in patients with liver impairment.

Interaction: Amlodipine may have additive blood-pressure-lowering effects with other antihypertensive medicines. Concomitant use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors may increase amlodipine exposure. Monitor for hypotension when used with other vasodilating agents.

Side effects: Common reactions include peripheral edema, headache, flushing, dizziness, palpitations, fatigue, nausea, abdominal discomfort, and constipation. Gingival hyperplasia and hypotension may occur less frequently.
