Indication & Scope
HengJian® Merbromin Solution provides disinfection of superficial skin wounds.
- Mechanism: Mercurochrome releases trace mercury ions after topical application, which bind to bacterial proteins, denature and precipitate proteins, thereby inhibiting and killing common superficial pathogenic bacteria on the skin surface to achieve disinfection and antibacterial effects.
- Drug class: Topical antiseptic and disinfectant.
- Clinical use: Clinically applied for routine disinfection of minor superficial skin abrasions, scratches and shallow traumatic wounds to prevent local bacterial infection of skin lesions.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Apply an appropriate amount of the solution evenly to the superficial skin wound area.
Time: Use at any time after skin trauma, no fixed time interval for single use.
Instructions for use: For external skin use only. Do not apply to deep wounds, mucosal surfaces, eyes and oral cavity. Avoid long-term and large-area application on the skin.
Interaction: No clear drug interaction data has been confirmed clinically. Concurrent use of other topical antiseptics may cause excessive skin irritation.
Side effects: Occasional mild skin irritation including redness, itching and slight burning sensation at the application site. Long-term large-area use may lead to mercury accumulation and systemic adverse reactions.
