Indication & Scope
Betaloc ZOK® (Metoprolol Succinate Sustained-release Tablets) is applied for the treatment of hypertension, angina pectoris, chronic heart failure and arrhythmia, with the effects of slowing heart rate and reducing myocardial oxygen consumption.
- Mechanism: Selectively blocks beta-1 adrenergic receptors of the heart, inhibits sympathetic nerve excitation, slows heart rate, reduces cardiac contractility and myocardial oxygen consumption, and stabilizes cardiac electrical activity.
- Drug class: Selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker.
- Clinical use: Widely used in cardiovascular department for long-term control of hypertension, relief of angina pectoris symptoms, standardized treatment of chronic heart failure and correction of benign arrhythmia.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Initial dose for hypertension and angina pectoris is 47.5 mg once daily, and the dose can be gradually increased according to disease conditions.
Time: Once daily, taken at a fixed time every day.
Instructions for use: Take orally with whole tablet swallowed, do not crush or chew the sustained-release tablet, can be taken with or without food.
Interaction: Combined use with non-dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers may aggravate bradycardia; combined with hypoglycemic drugs may mask hypoglycemia symptoms.
Side effects: Fatigue, dizziness, bradycardia, limb coldness; occasional gastrointestinal discomfort and sleep disorders.
