Indication & Scope
Lagevrio® is a prescription oral antiviral indicated for the treatment of adults with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 who are at high risk for progression to severe disease. Treatment should be initiated as soon as possible after diagnosis and within 5 days of symptom onset.
- Mechanism: Molnupiravir is a ribonucleoside analogue that is metabolized to the active nucleoside triphosphate (NHC-TP). It introduces errors into the viral RNA during replication, leading to inhibition of SARS-CoV-2 replication.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Take 800 mg (four 200 mg capsules) orally every 12 hours for 5 days.
Time: Treatment should be started as soon as possible after COVID-19 diagnosis and within 5 days of symptom onset. Complete the full 5-day treatment course.
Instructions for use: Swallow the capsules whole with or without food. Do not open, crush, or chew the capsules. If a dose is missed within 10 hours of the scheduled time, take it as soon as possible; otherwise, skip the missed dose and continue the regular dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at the same time.
Interaction: No clinically significant drug interactions have been identified. Molnupiravir is not expected to inhibit or induce major CYP enzymes or transporters.
Side effects: Common adverse reactions include diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, and headache. Less common reactions include vomiting, rash, urticaria, and abdominal pain. Rare hypersensitivity reactions, including angioedema, have been reported.
