  • Drug class: Prostaglandin analog (Antiglaucoma agent).
  • Clinical use: Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, especially in those with an inadequate response or intolerance to other ocular hypotensive therapies.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: Instill one drop into the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.

Time: Evening administration provides optimal intraocular pressure reduction. Do not exceed one dose per day, as more frequent administration may reduce the intraocular pressure-lowering effect.

Instructions for use: For ophthalmic use only. If a dose is missed, continue with the next scheduled dose without applying an additional drop. After administration, gently press the inner corner of the eye near the tear duct for approximately 2 minutes to reduce systemic absorption. When using other ophthalmic medications, allow an interval of at least 5 minutes between applications. TRAVATAN® is preserved with POLYQUAD® instead of benzalkonium chloride, and contact lenses generally do not need to be removed before instillation unless otherwise directed by a healthcare professional.

Interaction: No clinically significant systemic drug interactions have been identified. Concomitant use with two or more prostaglandin analogs is not recommended, as it may reduce the intraocular pressure-lowering effect or produce paradoxical responses.

Side effects: Common adverse reactions include conjunctival hyperemia, eye discomfort, foreign body sensation, eye pain, ocular pruritus, dry eye, iris pigmentation changes, eyelid pigmentation, eyelash growth, blurred vision, superficial punctate keratitis, blepharitis, photophobia, increased lacrimation, eyelid edema, headache, dizziness, and rare hypersensitivity reactions.
