OuHeShu® is a prescription gabapentinoid indicated for the treatment of postherpetic neuralgia in adults and as adjunctive therapy for partial seizures in adults and pediatric patients aged 3 years and older.

Mechanism: Gabapentin binds to the α2-δ subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels, reducing excitatory neurotransmitter release and regulating abnormal neuronal activity.
Drug class: Gabapentinoid anticonvulsant and neuropathic pain modulator.
Clinical use: Management of neuropathic pain and adjunctive treatment of partial-onset seizures.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: For postherpetic neuralgia in adults, the dose is gradually increased from 0.3 g/day to a usual maintenance dose of 0.9–1.8 g/day. For partial seizures, adults and patients ≥12 years usually receive 0.9–1.8 g/day in divided doses; pediatric dosing is adjusted according to body weight.

Time: Take orally three times daily with or without food. Do not stop treatment suddenly; taper gradually under medical supervision.

Instructions for use: Swallow capsules whole with water. Avoid driving or operating machinery if dizziness or drowsiness occurs.

Interaction: Use caution with opioids, alcohol, sedatives, and antacids containing aluminum or magnesium, which may increase sedation or reduce gabapentin absorption.

Side effects: Common adverse reactions include dizziness, somnolence, fatigue, peripheral edema, headache, nausea, and coordination problems. Rare serious reactions include severe allergic reactions, respiratory depression, pancreatitis, and suicidal thoughts.

What is OuHeShu® used for?

Can OuHeShu® be stopped suddenly?

No. Sudden discontinuation may worsen seizures or cause rebound symptoms. The dose should be gradually reduced.
