Indication & Scope

HengYang® is a prescription selective COX-2 inhibitor indicated for the symptomatic relief of pain associated with osteoarthritis. It is approved for use in adult male patients and women without childbearing intentions during treatment.

Mechanism: Imrecoxib selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), reducing prostaglandin synthesis responsible for pain and inflammation while minimizing inhibition of COX-1, resulting in improved gastrointestinal tolerability compared with non-selective NSAIDs.
Drug class: Selective COX-2 inhibitor (NSAID).
Clinical use: Relief of pain, stiffness, and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: The recommended dose is 0.1 g twice daily by oral administration. The maximum recommended daily dose is 0.2 g.

Time: Take twice daily, preferably after meals.

Instructions for use: Swallow the tablet whole with water. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Interaction: Avoid concomitant use with other NSAIDs, anticoagulants, corticosteroids, ACE inhibitors, ARBs, or diuretics without medical supervision.

Side effects: Common adverse reactions include dyspepsia, abdominal pain, nausea, dizziness, edema, rash, and elevated liver enzymes. Serious adverse reactions include gastrointestinal bleeding, cardiovascular thrombotic events, severe skin reactions, and renal impairment.
