Indication & Scope
FONOW® is a prescription topical antibacterial ointment indicated for the prevention and treatment of superficial bacterial skin infections. It helps prevent infection in minor cuts, abrasions, burns, and surgical wounds, while also relieving local pain and discomfort. It is also used for bacterial skin conditions such as impetigo, folliculitis, paronychia, and infected ulcers.
- Mechanism: Combines polymyxin B, neomycin, and bacitracin to provide broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against common Gram-positive and Gram-negative skin pathogens. Lidocaine provides local anesthetic effects for rapid pain relief.
- Drug class: Topical combination antibacterial ointment with local anesthetic.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2–4 times daily.
Time: Continue treatment for up to 5 days, or as directed by a physician.
Instructions for use: Clean and dry the affected area before application. For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes, ear canal, and large open wounds.
Interaction: Avoid concurrent use with other topical anesthetics or systemic aminoglycosides on large treatment areas due to increased toxicity risk.
Side effects: Common adverse reactions include mild burning, itching, redness, rash, or contact dermatitis. Rare systemic effects such as nephrotoxicity, ototoxicity, or severe allergic reactions may occur after prolonged or extensive use.
