Indication & Scope

BoSu®/KangXin® Bisoprolol Fumarate Tablets indicates for the treatment of essential hypertension and coronary heart disease with angina pectoris. It is also used as adjuvant therapy for chronic stable heart failure to improve cardiac function status.

Mechanism: Bisoprolol fumarate is a selective beta 1 adrenergic receptor blocker. It selectively inhibits cardiac beta 1 receptors, reducing heart rate, myocardial contractility and cardiac output, lowering myocardial oxygen consumption. It also reduces renin release, inhibits the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, and achieves antihypertensive and anti-anginal effects.
Drug class: Selective Beta 1 Adrenergic Receptor Blocker (Beta-blocker).
Clinical use: Widely used in the long-term control of essential hypertension, symptomatic treatment of coronary atherosclerotic angina pectoris, and standardized adjuvant treatment of chronic stable heart failure to reduce cardiovascular event risks.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: Initiate with low dose and adjust individually. The usual initial dose for hypertension and angina is 2.5mg to 5mg once daily; the maximum daily dose does not exceed 10mg.

Time: Take orally once daily in the morning, preferably at a fixed time every day.

Instructions for use: Take the tablet whole with water, do not chew or crush. Dose adjustment should be conducted gradually under medical supervision, and sudden drug withdrawal is prohibited.

Interaction: Combined use with other antihypertensive drugs enhances hypotensive effect. Concomitant use with antiarrhythmic drugs may aggravate bradycardia and atrioventricular block. Combined with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may reduce antihypertensive efficacy.

Side effects:

1. Common side effects include fatigue, bradycardia, dizziness, insomnia and gastrointestinal upset.

2. Rare adverse reactions include hypotension, dyspnea, muscle weakness and allergic skin reactions.
