Leflunomide inhibits dihydroorotate dehydrogenase, blocking pyrimidine synthesis and restraining proliferation of activated lymphocytes. It exerts anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects for rheumatic disease control.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Oral administration, swallowed whole.
Time: Loading dose: 50mg once daily for the first 3 days; maintenance dose: 10–20mg once daily, taken at the same time every 24 hours.
Instructions for use: Monitor liver function monthly at the initial stage. Effective contraception is required for fertile patients. Avoid use in patients with active liver disease.
Interaction: Cholestyramine accelerates elimination of active metabolite. Concurrent use with other hepatotoxic medicines increases liver injury risk.
Side effects: Diarrhea, rash, alopecia, reversible elevation of liver transaminases, pruritus.
