Description
Indication & Scope
XianYiDa® Ecnoglutide Injection helps with subcutaneous glycemic control to lower fasting and postprandial blood glucose in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
- Mechanism: Ultra-long acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist with extended serum half-life. It activates pancreatic GLP-1 receptors to stimulate glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppress glucagon release, delay gastric emptying and reduce central nervous system appetite signaling; delivers sustained blood glucose reduction and mild body weight loss with once-weekly administration.
- Drug class: Long-acting weekly GLP-1 receptor agonist / Injectable hypoglycemic peptide biologic drug.
- Clinical use: Single-agent glycemic management for newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes adults; combination therapy with oral metformin for enhanced glucose and weight control in patients with suboptimal oral monotherapy response.
- Related Product: The same active ingredient is also marketed in China as Xianweiying® for chronic weight management in adults with overweight or obesity. Although both products contain Mazdutide, they are approved for different therapeutic indications.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Initial titration starting dose: 0.2 mg once weekly subcutaneously; escalate incrementally to maintenance therapeutic doses of 0.6 mg or 1.0 mg weekly based on individual HbA1c and weight response.
Time: Single subcutaneous injection administered once every 7 days, flexible timing independent of daily meal schedules.
Instructions for use: Deliver subcutaneous injection into abdomen, thigh or upper arm adipose tissue; rotate injection sites weekly to prevent local inflammatory reactions; initiate low starting dose to minimize gastrointestinal adverse effects; screen thyroid cancer family history prior to treatment initiation.
Interaction: Concurrent insulin or sulfonylurea oral hypoglycemics significantly increase severe hypoglycemia risk; oral nutrient supplements containing calcium/magnesium delay gastrointestinal peptide absorption and reduce peak therapeutic efficacy.
Side effects:
1. Common mild transient adverse reactions: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, injection site erythema, mild appetite suppression, fatigue.
2. Rare severe risks: acute gallstone pancreatitis, severe symptomatic hypoglycemia, thyroid C-cell tumor proliferative risk, anaphylactic hypersensitivity.
