Risperidone potently blocks central D2 and 5-HT2A receptors: it suppresses limbic dopamine overactivity to ease psychotic positive symptoms and modulates cortical 5-HT2A for negative/affective relief, with fewer extrapyramidal side effects than typical antipsychotics.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: Initial dose 1 mg twice daily, titrate gradually to target dose 4–6 mg daily.

Time: Long-term maintenance treatment for recurrent psychosis and bipolar disorder; regular psychiatric follow-up required.

Interaction: Concurrent use with CYP2D6 inhibitors (fluoxetine, paroxetine) elevates risperidone blood concentration; monitor for extrapyramidal symptoms.

Side effects: Somnolence, dizziness, extrapyramidal symptoms, elevated prolactin, weight gain, dry mouth.

Important Notice

This product shall only be used for post-exposure rabies prophylaxis by professional medical staff. It must be applied combined with rabies vaccine and injected via wound infiltration plus intramuscular routes as specified. Do not administer intravenously or alter the dosage at will. Hypersensitivity monitoring is required throughout the whole injection process.
