Indication & Scope

XinBiAo® (Loncipoetin Alfa) is a novel erythropoiesis-stimulating agent developed by Guangdong Sansheng Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the treatment of anemia caused by chronic kidney disease in adult hemodialysis patients who have previously received erythropoietin-based therapy.By increasing glycosylation modification of recombinant human erythropoietin-α, Loncipoetin Alfa extends the in vivo half-life and provides a longer dosing interval for maintaining hemoglobin levels.

Mechanism: Loncipoetin Alfa binds to erythropoietin receptors on erythroid progenitor cells in the bone marrow, promoting erythroid cell proliferation and maturation to increase red blood cell production. Enhanced glycosylation extends its half-life and supports prolonged erythropoietic activity.
Drug class: Erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA).
Clinical use: Treatment of anemia caused by chronic kidney disease in adult hemodialysis patients previously treated with erythropoietin-based therapy.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: For adult hemodialysis patients switching from short-acting erythropoietin therapy, convert the previous weekly erythropoietin dose to Loncipoetin Alfa 25 μg administered intravenously once every 2 weeks according to the approved prescribing information.

Time: Administer every 2 weeks following the recommended dosing schedule.

Instructions for use: Administer by intravenous injection in hemodialysis patients; subcutaneous administration may also be used. Hemoglobin levels should be monitored regularly, and dose adjustments should be made according to clinical response.

Interaction: No formal drug interaction studies have been conducted. No clinically significant interactions have been reported with commonly used therapies such as antihypertensive drugs, phosphate binders, and vitamin D preparations.

Side effects: Common adverse reactions may include hypertension, headache, and arthralgia. Other possible adverse reactions include injection site pain, edema, nausea, thrombotic events, and hypersensitivity reactions.
