Indication & Scope
RuiShu® Miglitol Tablets indicates for improving postprandial blood glucose control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, combined with dietary control and physical exercise intervention.
- Mechanism: Miglitol inhibits alpha-glucosidase activity in intestinal tract, delays the decomposition and absorption of dietary carbohydrates, reduces postprandial blood glucose peak and fluctuation, and stably controls postprandial blood glucose level without stimulating insulin secretion.
- Drug class: Alpha-glucosidase Inhibitor (Oral Hypoglycemic Agent).
- Clinical use: Clinically applied for adjuvant treatment of type 2 diabetes, mainly targeting patients with elevated postprandial blood glucose, assisting diet and exercise therapy to achieve comprehensive blood glucose management.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Initiate with low dose, 25mg three times a day, gradually adjust to 50mg-100mg three times a day according to blood glucose control status.
Time: Take orally immediately before three meals, within 5 minutes before eating.
Instructions for use: Take the tablet whole with water right before meals. Do not take on an empty stomach without meals. Combine with strict diet control and appropriate exercise for better hypoglycemic effect.
Interaction: Combined use with sulfonylurea hypoglycemic drugs or insulin may increase hypoglycemia risk. Digestive enzyme preparations will reduce the hypoglycemic efficacy of miglitol.
Side effects:
1. Common side effects include abdominal distension, flatulence, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal reactions, which can be relieved with continuous medication.
2. Rare adverse reactions include skin allergic reaction and mild liver function abnormality.
