Indication & Scope
XinHeTong® is a prescription loop diuretic indicated for the treatment of edema associated with congestive heart failure, hepatic cirrhosis, and renal disease. It is also used in patients who respond inadequately to other diuretics, including furosemide.
- Mechanism: Bumetanide inhibits the Na⁺-K⁺-2Cl⁻ cotransporter (NKCC2) in the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle, promoting rapid excretion of sodium, chloride, and water while reducing fluid overload.
- Drug class: Loop diuretic.
- Clinical use: Treatment of edema caused by heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or renal disease; management of acute pulmonary edema and other conditions requiring rapid diuresis under medical supervision.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Usually 0.5–1 mg by slow intravenous or intramuscular injection; doses may be repeated according to clinical response. Maximum daily dose is generally 10 mg.
Time: Administer by slow IV injection over at least 1–2 minutes or by diluted IV infusion.
Instructions for use: Use under medical supervision. Monitor urine output, blood pressure, renal function, and serum electrolytes. Switch to oral therapy when clinically appropriate.
Interaction: Caution with digoxin, corticosteroids, NSAIDs, lithium, aminoglycosides, and other agents affecting electrolyte balance or renal function.
Side effects: Common adverse reactions include dehydration, hypotension, dizziness, hypokalemia, hyponatremia, hyperuricemia, nausea, muscle cramps, and transient increases in serum creatinine.
