How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Doxycycline hyclate tablets are administered orally. Adults usually receive 0.1 g every 12 hours on the first day, followed by 0.1 g once daily or every 12 hours, depending on the severity of infection. For specific infections, treatment duration and dosage should follow the prescribing information. Take the tablet with plenty of water after meals and remain upright for at least 30 minutes after administration.
Time: Administer according to the prescribed schedule. Most infections require 7–14 days of treatment, while certain infections may require longer courses.
Instructions for use: Do not take simultaneously with calcium, magnesium, aluminum, iron supplements, or dairy products; separate administration by at least 2 hours. Avoid excessive sunlight or UV exposure during treatment because of the risk of photosensitivity.
Interaction: Antacids and mineral supplements may reduce doxycycline absorption. Enzyme-inducing drugs may decrease its effectiveness, while warfarin may have an enhanced anticoagulant effect when used concomitantly.
Side effects: Common adverse reactions include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, skin rash, and photosensitivity. Serious adverse reactions include esophagitis, hepatotoxicity, severe hypersensitivity reactions, intracranial hypertension, and secondary infections.
