Seretide® Salmeterol Xinafoate and Fluticasone Propionate Powder for Inhalation provides long-term maintenance treatment of persistent asthma; maintenance therapy for moderate-severe COPD with repeated exacerbations.
- Mechanism: Fluticasone is an inhaled corticosteroid suppressing chronic airway inflammation; salmeterol is a long-acting β2 agonist providing 12-hour sustained bronchodilation. Combined anti-inflammation + long bronchodilation.
- Drug class: Fixed combination of inhaled corticosteroid + long-acting β2 agonist (LABA).
- Clinical use: Twice-daily control of persistent asthma; long-term reduction of COPD exacerbations.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: 1 inhalation twice daily for maintenance treatment.
Time: Morning and evening, twice daily with 12-hour intervals.
Instructions for use: Slide the lever to load one dose; exhale fully away from the inhaler, inhale deeply and hold breath for 10 seconds; rinse mouth thoroughly after use.
Interaction: CYP3A4 inhibitors increase systemic fluticasone absorption; beta-blockers block salmeterol’s bronchodilation.
Side effects:
1. Common: hoarseness, oral candidiasis, throat irritation, mild transient tremor, palpitations.
2. Rare: headache, joint discomfort.
