 Indication & Scope

Retagliptin Phosphate and Metformin Hydrochloride Tablets(I)/(II) improves glycemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus as adjunct to diet and exercise.

  • Mechanism: Dual complementary hypoglycemic mechanism. Retagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that prolongs endogenous GLP-1 activity to glucose-dependently boost insulin and suppress glucagon secretion; Metformin reduces hepatic glucose output and improves peripheral insulin sensitivity.
  • Drug class: Fixed-dose combination oral anti-diabetic prescription medicine, DPP-4 inhibitor plus biguanide combination agent.
  • Clinical use: Simplified single-tablet therapy for type 2 diabetes patients inadequately controlled by single-agent oral hypoglycemic drugs.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: Once or twice daily oral administration based on baseline blood glucose levels and patient tolerance.
