How to use ?

Recommended Dose: 0.97 mg administered by subcutaneous injection once weekly according to the approved prescribing information.

Time: Administer once weekly on the same day each week by subcutaneous injection into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.

Instructions for use: Visepegenatide is supplied as a prefilled auto-injector and does not require dose titration. After appropriate training, patients may self-administer the injection. No dose adjustment is required in patients with mild or moderate hepatic or renal impairment, while caution is advised in patients with severe impairment. If a dose is missed, administer it as soon as possible within the recommended dosing window and then resume the regular once-weekly schedule.

Interaction: Visepegenatide is not metabolized through the CYP450 enzyme system and has a low potential for drug-drug interactions. It may be used in combination with metformin, SGLT2 inhibitors, or other antidiabetic agents. When administered with insulin or sulfonylureas, dose reduction of the concomitant therapy may be necessary to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia.

Side effects: Common adverse reactions include nausea, abdominal distension, diarrhea, and injection-site reactions. Fatigue and transient elevations in liver enzymes have also been reported. Hypoglycemia is uncommon during monotherapy but may occur more frequently when combined with insulin or insulin secretagogues. A potential risk of pancreatitis and thyroid C-cell tumors should be considered during treatment.
