nuoreida atrasentan hydrochloride tablet 0

Description

 Indication & Scope

NuoRuiDa® is a prescription endothelin A (ETA) receptor antagonist indicated for the reduction of proteinuria in adults with primary immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) who are at risk of rapid disease progression.

  • Mechanism: Atrasentan hydrochloride is a selective endothelin A receptor antagonist that blocks the binding of endothelin-1 to ETA receptors. By inhibiting endothelin-mediated inflammatory and fibrotic pathways in the kidney, atrasentan reduces proteinuria and helps protect renal function.
  • Drug class: Selective endothelin A (ETA) receptor antagonist.
  • Clinical use: Reduction of proteinuria in adults with primary IgA nephropathy at risk of rapid disease progression.

Recommended Dose: The recommended dose is 0.75 mg orally once daily.

Time: NuoReiDa® may be administered with or without food. Tablets should be swallowed whole and should not be split, crushed, or chewed.

Instructions for use: Pregnancy testing should be performed before initiation in females of reproductive potential. Treatment should continue as clinically appropriate with monitoring of proteinuria, renal function, liver function, and fluid retention. If a dose is missed, the next dose should be taken at the regularly scheduled time without doubling the dose.

Interaction: Atrasentan is metabolized primarily through CYP pathways. Concomitant use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors may increase atrasentan exposure and should be avoided or carefully monitored.

Side effects: Common adverse reactions include peripheral edema and anemia. Other potential risks include fluid retention, liver enzyme abnormalities, and embryo-fetal toxicity. Patients should be monitored for signs of edema, weight gain, and hepatic dysfunction.
