 Indication & Scope

LOSEC MUPS® Omeprazole Magnesium Enteric-coated Tablets treats gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer and reflux esophagitis; serves as adjuvant therapy for helicobacter pylori eradication regimens.

  • Mechanism: Irreversibly inhibit gastric parietal cell H+/K+-ATPase proton pump, block final gastric acid secretion pathway and drastically reduce basal and stimulated gastric acid output.
  • Drug class: Prescription proton pump inhibitor (PPI), anti-ulcer anti-acid gastrointestinal medicine.
  • Clinical use: First-line treatment for peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease; combination therapy for Hp eradication.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: 20 mg once daily for routine ulcer and reflux treatment.

 

Time: Take 30 minutes before breakfast every morning, swallow whole tablet intact.

 

Instructions for use: No chewing or crushing enteric coating; swallow complete tablet with plain water, avoid alkaline beverages.

 

Interaction: Reduce absorption of ketoconazole; increase blood concentration of diazepam and warfarin via liver enzyme inhibition.

 

Side effects: Mild headache, diarrhea, nausea, flatulence; rare hypomagnesemia and vitamin B12 malabsorption with long-term use.
