OuHuaYaZhouKang® Metronidazole and Fenbufen Capsules treats gingivitis and periodontitis; provide auxiliary relief for oral inflammation and glossitis caused by anaerobic bacterial infection.

Mechanism: Metronidazole exerts bactericidal activity against oral anaerobes by disrupting bacterial DNA synthesis. Fenbufen is non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits prostaglandin production to relieve oral inflammatory pain and swelling. Two ingredients combine antibacterial and analgesic anti-inflammatory effects for oral infectious lesions.
Drug class: Compound preparation of anti-anaerobic antibiotic and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic.
Clinical use: Symptomatic and etiological treatment of anaerobic bacterial oral soft tissue inflammation.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: 1 capsule per oral administration, three times daily after meals.

Time: Take after meals to minimize gastric mucosal irritation caused by fenbufen.

Instructions for use: Complete full treatment course as dentists prescribe; alcoholic drinks are strictly forbidden during medication and within 7 days after withdrawal due to disulfiram-like reaction. Discontinue administration and seek medical help when numbness, convulsion or severe stomach pain occurs.

Interaction: Concomitant alcohol intake induces flushing, tachycardia, vomiting and hypotension. Combined anticoagulants such as warfarin increase bleeding tendency. Phenytoin and cimetidine alter hepatic metabolism of metronidazole to change blood drug concentration.

Side effects: Gastrointestinal upset including stomach burning, nausea and diarrhea; central nervous symptoms like headache, dizziness and peripheral nerve numbness. Rare leukopenia, skin allergic rash, severe convulsion and epileptic attack under excessive dosage.
