 Indication & Scope

WuDuLi® is a prescription potassium-sparing diuretic combination indicated for the treatment of hypertension and edema associated with congestive heart failure, hepatic cirrhosis, and other conditions involving fluid retention.

  • Mechanism: Amiloride blocks epithelial sodium channels (ENaC) in the distal nephron to reduce potassium loss, while hydrochlorothiazide inhibits sodium and chloride reabsorption in the distal convoluted tubule to enhance natriuresis and diuresis.
  • Drug class: Potassium-sparing diuretic / thiazide diuretic combination.
  • Clinical use: Treatment of hypertension and edema associated with heart failure, hepatic cirrhosis, and fluid retention disorders while reducing the risk of thiazide-induced hypokalemia.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: 1–2 tablets orally once daily. In patients with severe edema, the dose may be divided into twice-daily administration according to clinical response.

 

Time: Take after meals, preferably in the morning.

 

Instructions for use: Swallow tablets with water. Monitor serum potassium, sodium, renal function, blood pressure, and uric acid regularly. Avoid potassium supplements or other potassium-sparing diuretics unless directed by a physician.

 

Interaction: Use caution with ACE inhibitors, ARBs, potassium supplements, spironolactone, eplerenone, digoxin, lithium, NSAIDs, and corticosteroids.

 

Side effects: Common adverse reactions include nausea, dry mouth, dizziness, fatigue, hyperkalemia, hyponatremia, hyperuricemia, orthostatic hypotension, and skin rash.
