Indication & Scope
Mobic® is a prescription nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
- Mechanism: Meloxicam preferentially inhibits cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), reducing prostaglandin synthesis to relieve pain, inflammation, and joint stiffness.
- Drug class: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID); preferential COX-2 inhibitor.
- Clinical use: Relief of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: The recommended dose is 7.5 mg once daily, which may be increased to 15 mg once daily if necessary. The maximum recommended daily dose is 15 mg.
Time: Take orally once daily with water, preferably at the same time each day. May be taken with food to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.
Instructions for use: Swallow the tablet whole. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms.
Interaction: Avoid concomitant use with other NSAIDs, anticoagulants, corticosteroids, methotrexate, lithium, ACE inhibitors, ARBs, or diuretics due to increased risks of gastrointestinal bleeding, renal impairment, or altered drug effects.
Side effects: Common adverse reactions include abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, edema, and elevated liver enzymes. Serious but uncommon reactions include gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, severe skin reactions, cardiovascular thrombotic events, and acute kidney injury.
