Indication & Scope

Libeituo® is an over-the-counter compound cough syrup indicated for the relief of cough and sputum associated with upper respiratory tract infections (including the common cold and influenza) and bronchitis.

Mechanism: Dextromethorphan hydrobromide suppresses the cough center to reduce coughing, while guaifenesin promotes respiratory secretions and helps loosen mucus, making sputum easier to expectorate.
Drug Class: Combination antitussive and expectorant.
Clinical Use: Symptomatic treatment of cough accompanied by sputum.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: Adults should take 10 mL orally three times daily, with no more than four doses within 24 hours. Children under 12 years of age should use the product only under the guidance of a physician or pharmacist.

Time: May be taken with or without food. If symptoms persist for more than 7 days, or worsen, seek medical advice.

Instructions for use: Shake well before use and measure the dose with a calibrated measuring cup or spoon. Do not exceed the recommended dosage. Avoid driving or operating machinery if drowsiness occurs. Do not combine with other cough suppressants or central nervous system depressants unless advised by a healthcare professional.

Interaction: Do not use together with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or certain antidepressants. Concomitant use with other CNS depressants may increase sedation.

Side effects: May cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache, nausea, constipation, decreased appetite, skin rash, or allergic reactions. Overdose may result in confusion, bronchospasm, or respiratory depression.
