FAQ
Why is liver function monitoring important?
Docetaxel is mainly metabolized by the liver; severe liver dysfunction increases toxic risk and requires dose reduction.
What premedication is required before administration?
Oral dexamethasone, 16mg daily for at least 3 days, to prevent allergic reactions and fluid retention.
Can it be given by rapid intravenous bolus?
No, it must be administered as a 1-hour slow intravenous infusion.
What should be done for severe hypersensitivity reactions?
Immediately stop infusion, give emergency treatment, and do not reuse docetaxel afterwards.
