KaShuangPing® Pioglitazone Hydrochloride and Metformin Hydrochloride Tablets indicates for type 2 diabetes mellitus, improves insulin resistance and controls blood glucose level.
- Mechanism: Metformin reduces hepatic glucose output and increases peripheral glucose uptake; pioglitazone activates peroxisome proliferator‑activated receptor gamma, improves insulin resistance, and together they synergistically lower blood sugar.
- Drug class: Oral hypoglycemic compound preparation for type 2 diabetes.
- Clinical use: Blood glucose control in patients with type 2 diabetes who have insulin resistance.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: 1 tablet per single administration, adjusted according to blood glucose monitoring results.
Time: Orally taken once or twice daily with meals.
Instructions for use: Take with meals to reduce gastrointestinal irritation. Regular monitoring of fasting and postprandial blood glucose, liver function and weight is required. Early symptoms of lactic acidosis (muscle soreness, dyspnea) require immediate medical treatment.
Interaction: Concomitant use of sulfonylurea hypoglycemics increases hypoglycemia risk. Cimetidine may increase metformin plasma concentration.
Side effects: Mild nausea, diarrhea, weight gain; rare lactic acidosis, edema, liver function abnormality.
