 Indication & Scope

Bevifibatide Citrate Injection treats acute coronary syndrome (ACS).

  • Mechanism: Synthetic glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor antagonist, blocks platelet final common aggregation pathway to inhibit platelet cross-linking, reduce thrombus formation in coronary arteries.
  • Drug class: GP IIb/IIIa inhibitor, injectable antiplatelet cardiovascular therapeutic agent.
  • Clinical use: Peri-procedural antiplatelet therapy for patients with acute coronary syndrome undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: 180 mcg/kg IV push followed by continuous infusion at 2 mcg/kg/min for up to 72 hours or until PCI completion.

 

Time: IV bolus administered rapidly, continuous infusion runs non-stop throughout ACS management and PCI procedure.

 

Instructions for use:

1. Monitor activated clotting time and bleeding signs continuously during infusion.

2. Discontinue infusion immediately if major bleeding occurs.

3. Do not administer intramuscular injections during treatment.

4. Use dedicated IV line to avoid mixing with other medications.

 

Interaction:

1. Concurrent aspirin, P2Y12 inhibitors and anticoagulants significantly increase major bleeding risk.

2. Thrombolytic agents are contraindicated for co-administration.

 

Side effects:

1. Common: Minor bleeding (ecchymosis, oozing at access sites), hypotension, nausea.
2. Severe: Severe intracranial hemorrhage, major gastrointestinal bleeding, thrombocytopenia, anaphylaxis.
