 Indication & Scope

Rhinocort Aqua® Budesonide Nasal Spray provides treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, non-allergic rhinitis, and prevention of postoperative recurrence of nasal polyps in adults and children over 6 years old.

  • Mechanism: A synthetic non-halogenated glucocorticoid that binds to intracellular glucocorticoid receptors, inhibits the synthesis and release of inflammatory mediators, reduces nasal mucosal congestion, edema and inflammatory exudation, and relieves nasal inflammatory symptoms.
  • Drug class: Topical glucocorticoid anti-inflammatory agent.
  • Clinical use: Clinically applied for long-term symptomatic control of various rhinitis and auxiliary prevention of nasal polyp recurrence after nasal endoscopic surgery.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: Adults and adolescents over 12 years old: 1-4 sprays per nostril once daily (maximum 256 mcg daily); children aged 6-12 years old: 1-2 sprays per nostril once daily (maximum 128 mcg daily).

 

Time: Fixed daily morning administration is preferred; divided morning and evening administration is acceptable for severe symptoms.

 

Instructions for use: Shake well before use, remove the cap, prime the spray pump by pressing several times for first use, spray into each nostril gently while inhaling nasally, and clean the nozzle regularly.

 

Interaction: No obvious adverse drug interactions reported; combined use with other nasal glucocorticoids may increase local adverse reactions.

 

Side effects: Local mild irritation including nasal dryness, nasal bleeding, throat irritation, sneezing; rare systemic reactions such as headache and allergic rash.
