Description
Indication & Scope
Narcaricin mite®/ErTongShu® is a prescription uricosuric agent indicated for the treatment of primary hyperuricemia, intercritical gouty arthritis, and gouty tophi. By inhibiting renal urate reabsorption, benzbromarone increases urinary uric acid excretion, lowers serum uric acid levels, and helps prevent recurrent gout attacks and urate crystal deposition.
- Mechanism: Benzbromarone selectively inhibits the renal URAT1 transporter, reducing uric acid reabsorption and promoting urinary uric acid excretion.
- Drug class: Uricosuric agent (URAT1 inhibitor).
- Clinical use: Long-term management of primary hyperuricemia and gout in patients with decreased uric acid excretion.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: The recommended starting dose is 50 mg once daily after breakfast. If serum uric acid remains above target after several weeks, the dose may be increased to 100 mg once daily, followed by the lowest effective maintenance dose.
Time: Take once daily after breakfast at the same time each day. Treatment should be started only after an acute gout attack has completely resolved.
Instructions for use: Swallow the tablet with water and maintain adequate hydration throughout treatment. Drinking 1.5–2 liters of water daily and urine alkalization, when appropriate, may help reduce the risk of kidney stones.
Interaction: High-dose aspirin may reduce the uricosuric effect of benzbromarone. Use caution with hepatotoxic medicines or diuretics, and monitor liver and kidney function during combined therapy.
Side effects: Common adverse reactions include gastrointestinal discomfort, diarrhea, nausea, and elevated liver enzymes. Serious but rare reactions include severe liver injury, allergic reactions, kidney stones, and acute kidney injury.
