Dymista® Azelastine Hydrochloride and Fluticasone Propionate Nasal Spray treats moderate to severe allergic rhinitis, including nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, sneezing and nasal pruritus.

  • Mechanism: Azelastine acts as a second-generation antihistamine to block histamine receptors and relieve acute allergic reactions; fluticasone propionate is a topical corticosteroid that inhibits inflammatory cytokine release to reduce chronic nasal inflammation. The two ingredients work synergistically to relieve both acute and persistent allergic symptoms.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: One spray per nostril twice daily for adults and adolescents over 12 years old.

 

Time: Morning and evening, at fixed intervals every day.

 

Instructions for use: Shake well before each use; clear nasal passages first; insert the nozzle into one nostril while blocking the other nostril, spray gently, avoid spraying directly onto the nasal septum.

 

Interaction: Sedatives and alcohol may enhance mild drowsiness caused by azelastine; strong CYP3A4 inhibitors slightly increase systemic fluticasone absorption.

 

Side effects:

1. Common: mild nasal dryness, bitter taste, transient headache, slight drowsiness.

2. Rare: nasal septum irritation, epistaxis, throat discomfort.
