Indication & Scope
DongZeAn is a prescription SGLT inhibitor indicated for improving glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise.Olorigliflozin is a novel dual SGLT inhibitor that potently inhibits renal SGLT-2 while moderately inhibiting intestinal SGLT-1, helping improve both fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels.
- Mechanism: Olorigliflozin inhibits renal SGLT-2 to reduce glucose reabsorption and increase urinary glucose excretion. Moderate inhibition of intestinal SGLT-1 decreases intestinal glucose absorption, contributing to improved glycemic control.
- Drug class: Sodium-glucose cotransporter (SGLT) inhibitor.
- Clinical use: Improvement of glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus as monotherapy or in combination with metformin.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: 20 mg administered orally twice daily according to the approved prescribing information.
Time: Take once daily, preferably before breakfast.
Instructions for use: Swallow the capsule whole with water. It may be taken with or without food. Dose adjustment is not required in patients with mild renal impairment (eGFR 60–89 mL/min/1.73 m²). Use is not recommended in patients with eGFR below 60 mL/min/1.73 m².
Interaction: Olorigliflozin is not metabolized by CYP450 enzymes. Concomitant use with diuretics may increase the risk of dehydration.
Side effects: Common adverse reactions include genital and urinary tract infections, increased urination, and dry mouth. Nausea, fatigue, dehydration, and diabetic ketoacidosis may occur.
