 Indication & Scope

Pemetrexed Disodium for Injection (Alimta®) is a multi-target folate metabolic inhibitor. It simultaneously inhibits thymidylate synthase, dihydrofolate reductase and glycinamide ribonucleotide formyltransferase, blocks de novo synthesis of purines and pyrimidines, suppresses tumor cell proliferation and induces tumor cell death.

How to use ?

Recommended Dose: Standard dosage regimen: 500 mg/m² intravenous infusion over 10 minutes on Day 1 of each 21-day cycle.

 

Time: 21 days as one treatment cycle, administered only on Day 1 of each cycle, with or without food restriction.

 

Interaction: NSAIDs increase pemetrexed exposure in renal impaired patients, close renal function monitoring required.

 

Side effects: Common reactions: Neutropenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, stomatitis, rash, diarrhea, elevated transaminase.

Important Notice

This product shall only be used for post-exposure rabies prophylaxis by professional medical staff. It must be applied combined with rabies vaccine and injected via wound infiltration plus intramuscular routes as specified. Do not administer intravenously or alter the dosage at will. Hypersensitivity monitoring is required throughout the whole injection process.
