Description
Indication & Scope
Baling® is an over-the-counter mucolytic agent indicated for the relief of productive cough associated with chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and other respiratory diseases characterized by thick, difficult-to-expectorate sputum. It may also be used as an adjunctive treatment for non-suppurative otitis media in children.
- Mechanism: Carbocisteine regulates the composition of airway mucus by modifying mucoprotein structure, reducing sputum viscosity and improving mucociliary clearance, thereby facilitating expectoration.
- Drug class: Mucolytic expectorant.
- Clinical use: Treatment of productive cough and excessive sputum associated with chronic respiratory diseases.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Adults should take 10 mL orally three times daily. The dosage for children should be determined by a physician or pharmacist according to body weight.
Time: May be taken after meals or as directed by a healthcare professional. Continue treatment as recommended and consult a physician if symptoms persist for more than 7 days.
Instructions for use: Shake well before use. Measure the prescribed dose accurately before administration. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Avoid concomitant use with strong antitussive agents that suppress the cough reflex.
Interaction: Concomitant use with central antitussives is not recommended because suppression of the cough reflex may impair sputum clearance. Carbocisteine may be used together with antibiotics when clinically indicated.
Side effects: Common adverse reactions include nausea, mild stomach discomfort, diarrhea, headache, and skin rash. Rare cases of gastrointestinal bleeding and hypersensitivity reactions have been reported.
