Indication & Scope
Tianwu® is an over-the-counter antitussive indicated for the symptomatic relief of non-productive (dry) cough caused by upper respiratory tract infections, pertussis, and other conditions. It is intended for cough suppression when sputum production is absent or minimal.
- Mechanism: Pentoxyverine citrate suppresses the cough reflex through both central and peripheral mechanisms. It acts on the cough center in the medulla while producing mild bronchodilatory effects to reduce airway irritation.
- Drug class: Non-opioid antitussive.
- Clinical use: Symptomatic treatment of dry, non-productive cough.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Adults should take 25 mg (one tablet) orally 3–4 times daily. Children over 5 years of age should take 12.5 mg (half a tablet) 2–3 times daily. Children under 5 years should use the product only under medical supervision.
Time: Administer as needed according to symptom severity while following the recommended dosing schedule. If symptoms persist for more than 7 days, consult a healthcare professional.
Instructions for use: Swallow the tablets with water. Do not exceed the recommended dose. This product relieves dry cough only and is not suitable for productive cough with excessive sputum. Patients experiencing drowsiness should avoid driving or operating machinery.
Interaction: Concomitant use with other antitussives, antihistamines, or central nervous system depressants may increase sedative effects. Avoid combining with medications that suppress expectoration unless directed by a healthcare professional.
Side effects: Common adverse reactions include drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, nausea, abdominal discomfort, headache, and skin rash. Allergic reactions may occur rarely.
