Fultagliptin Benzoate Tablets improves glycemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
- Mechanism: Long-acting selective DPP-4 inhibitor, prolongs circulating GLP-1 and GIP activity to induce glucose-dependent insulin secretion and suppress glucagon secretion, lowering fasting and postprandial blood glucose.
- Drug class: DPP-4 inhibitor, oral once-weekly anti-diabetic agent.
- Clinical use: Monotherapy or combination therapy with metformin for long-term glycemic management in adults with type 2 diabetes.

How to use ?
Recommended Dose: Fixed weekly dose: 50 mg orally once every 7 days.
Time: Same fixed day and time once weekly, taken with or without food.
Instructions for use:
1. No daily dosing required, strictly follow weekly administration schedule.
2. Counsel patients on symptoms of acute pancreatitis to seek immediate care.
3. Adjust dosage for moderate and severe renal impairment.
4. Tablets must be swallowed whole.
Interaction:
1. Sulfonylureas increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
2. No meaningful CYP450 drug-drug interactions with other diabetes medications.
3. ACE inhibitors slightly increase angioedema risk.
Side effects:
1. Common: Nasopharyngitis, headache, back pain, upper respiratory tract infection.
2. Severe: Acute pancreatitis, hypersensitivity angioedema, bullous skin reactions.
